Fry Sauce-You Can Make This Classic Utah Condiment From Home

Fry sauce is a gift to mankind. For those of you that don’t know, fry sauce is a condiment made up of mainly of mayo and ketchup, a staple of Utahn fast-food. It’s hard to find true fry sauce outside of Utah and Idaho, and it’s a shame that it isn’t found everywhere. If you’ve never had it, don’t worry: this recipe has got you covered.

Ingredients:

- 1/2 cup mayonnaise

- 1/4 cup ketchup

- 1 tablespoon pickle juice (optional)

- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder

- Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

1. In a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise and ketchup. Mix well until they are thoroughly combined.

2. Add the pickle juice (if using), Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and onion powder to the mayonnaise-ketchup mixture. Stir until all the ingredients are well incorporated.

3. Taste the fry sauce and season with salt and pepper according to your preference. Adjust the seasoning as needed.

4. Transfer the fry sauce to a jar or container with a lid.

5. Refrigerate the fry sauce for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.

6. Serve the fry sauce with French fries, onion rings, or any other fried foods of your choice.




Note: Feel free to experiment with the ratios of mayonnaise and ketchup to suit your taste. Some variations include adding a touch of vinegar, hot sauce, or spices like paprika or cayenne pepper.
